  • Student Success – Results day 2022!

    Published 26/08/22

It was wonderful to celebrate the GCSE results achieved by Year 11 students at Co-op Academy Walkden on Thursday 25th July 2022. These were the first external GCSE examinations taken by students nationally since 2019. Over the past 3 years, there had been significant disruption to the education of this year group, due to the pandemic. This undoubtedly created a lot of anxiety and uncertainty for students in the approach to their GCSE’s. Despite those challenges, our Year 11 students have achieved truly exceptional results, which are also the best results ever for Co-op Academy Walkden.

We are so proud of their efforts, resilience and tenacity throughout their time at Walkden and they and their families should all be proud too. These brilliant results not only reflect the hard work of students, but also the efforts of staff to deliver consistently high quality teaching and support for students through every step of their journey. It is great to see the Academy going from strength to strength and our committed team looks forward to building on this success in the future.
